Teenager facing more charges over crash

A Perth teenager with no driver's licence faces further charges after a boy died following a car crash.

The 18-year-old woman's car allegedly ploughed into another car after she failed to stop when a police car tried to pull her over on October 26.

A 37-year-old woman, her 11-year-old son and eight-year-old daughter were seriously injured in the crash in Victoria Park, in Perth's southeast. The boy died on Monday as a result of his injuries.

Major crash investigators charged the 18-year-old woman with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, no authority to drive, failing to stop when called upon and failing to stop after a traffic incident, on October 27.

West Australian police on Saturday said the Manning woman had now also been charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death, aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and two counts of aggravated dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm.

She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police allege they attempted to stop a Holden Commodore on Albany Highway in Victoria Park but the driver failed to stop and accelerated away from the police vehicle.

The Holden Commodore collided head-on with a Nissan Micra at the intersection of Albany Highway and Kent Street.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw any of the vehicles before the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
