The names of five soldiers killed in Afghanistan have been added to the Australian War Memorial's Roll of Honour.

The roll lists the names of more than 100,000 Australian service men and women who have died during war.

The five new additions are: Private Gregory Michael Sher, Lieutenant Michael Fussell, Corporal Mathew Hopkins, Sergeant Brett Till and Private Benjamin Ranaudo.

Family members of the men took part in a special ceremony to mark Remembrance Day at the memorial in Canberra.
