Police have charged a teenager after a stabbing in downtown Melbourne that left a man with serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to Russell Street about 1.40am (AEDT) on Sunday after a 19-year-old from Preston, in Melbourne's north, was found stabbed in the stomach.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
An 18-year-old man appeared in an out-of-sessions court on Sunday charged with weapons and assault offences, including recklessly and intentionally causing serious injury.
He was remanded into custody and will face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.
