Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull and Joe Hockey are neck and neck as preferred Liberal leader, a new poll shows.
A Galaxy poll of 400 voters showed Mr Turnbull and Mr Hockey on equal footing, both on 29 per cent, while Tony Abbott was on 22 per cent, for all voters' preferred leader.
However, 39 per cent of coalition supporters backed Mr Hockey, compared to 25 per cent for Mr Turnbull and 26 per cent for Mr Abbott.
The poll, published in The Sunday Telegraph, also showed 60 per cent of all voters think the introduction of an emissions trading scheme (ETS) should be delayed until after a global agreement is reached.
Of the coalition supporters, 81 per cent think the scheme should be delayed, compared to 50 per cent of Labor supporters, the poll showed.
The vast majority of voters - 80 per cent - said they needed more information to weigh up the pros and cons of an ETS.
