A Sydney teacher's assistant has faced court after she was allegedly involved in a brawl with her lesbian lover at a New Year's Eve sex party, according to reports.

Sharron Anne Lee, 40, who works at Nepean High School, allegedly bashed her girlfriend Carlie-Anne Bell in her bedroom, causing severe bleeding.

The fight erupted after the pair had met a man at the Penrith Panthers club and invited him to come home with them, the Sunday Telegraph reports.

Parramatta Bail Court heard that the three had played "strip pool" in Lee's backyard before going to her bedroom.

The fight allegedly began because Bell was upset that Lee was having sex with Murgevski.

Bell was rushed to hospital suffering from a tear to her bowel lining and severe bleeding, and was expected to undergo surgery.

Department of Education spokesman Mark Davis told the Telegraph no decision had been made regarding Lee’s employment at the school.

"At this stage we wouldn't have any comment to make on the situation with the teacher," he said.

"We'd await the outcome of the court proceedings."

Lee was refused bail and has been ordered to appear before court on January 11.
