A US boy adopted as a teenager has posed for a series of unique 'newborn baby' photos with the help of his photographer mother.
The photos show Latrell Higgins, a 13-year-old from Florida, sleeping peacefully in soft lighting as he recreates all the typical poses of a baby photo shoot.
Latrell had asked for the pictures to be taken because he did not have any baby photos, the US Today show reports.
"Here's my sweet not so little newborn! His name is Latrell and weighs 112 lbs. (50kg)," his mother Kelli Higgins wrote in the Facebook post with the photos, which quickly went viral.
Mrs Higgins and her husband adopted Latrell and his younger sister two years ago, despite already having five children and another on the way.
The family felt they had more love to give, especially to older children who had trouble finding homes, Mrs Higgins said.
Mrs Higgins said Latrell first mentioned his lack of baby photos when she, a professional photographer, was discussing her plans for an upcoming newborn baby shoot.
When Mrs Higgins' 12-year-old daughter suggested the idea to recreate a newborn shoot for Latrell the whole family loved the idea.
"I thought it was funny and that it would be a good idea," Latrell said, adding that everyone he had shown the photos to thought they were hilarious.
