A US newsreader unwittingly “broke the news” of her own imminent marriage proposal on live TV reading after reading it from the autocue.
"We have some breaking news to report to you, FOX54 has just learned that a Huntsville news anchor is being proposed to on live TV right now,” Fox’s Alabama news anchor Jillian Pavlica said during the 9pm Saturday evening news broadcast.
Before she was able to get to the end of the "breaking news" script, Ms Pavlica began stumbling her words as she realised what she was saying.
Then the tears started when she saw her partner, now fiancée, was in the studio and about to propose to her.
Video shows Ms Pavlica’s partner, Vince, stepping into the studio as she continues to sob.
"Finally all our pieces are falling together," he says to her. "I can't picture a day in my life not waking up with you by myself."
Vince then gets on his knees and pops the question: "Jillian Pavlica, will you marry me?"
Crying and hugging her fiancée, a stunned Ms Pavlica says yes.
One of the other news anchors is left to finish reading the weather forecast.
"Here in the FOX54, 100 percent chance of a few tears of joy tonight,” he added. “That's pretty cool."
