Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has poked fun at himself in a tongue-in-cheek video guide to getting lucky in the air.
The hilarious video promotes Virgin America's new seat-to-seat feature that allows passengers to buy a drink or a meal and have it delivered to another passenger on-board a flight with the touch of a button.
Billionaire Branson opens the video with some cheeky tips on how to flirt with a woman at 35,000 feet.
"People ask me, 'Your Excellency, how do you always end up on top?' and the answer is, I don't. Sometimes I end up in the mouth of a whale shark," he says – referring to an incident in 2011 when he accidentally swam into the mouth of a whale shark in Mexico. "But enough about me. Here's my guide to getting lucky at 35,000 feet."
Branson's tips for wooing a fellow passenger include approaching them with a cheque for their favourite charity, carried in the mouth of a puppy that you have given the power of speech to.
"Then direct her attention to outside the window, where she will see your suborbital spaceship, composing a haiku in writing," Branson, the founder of Virgin Galactic space tourism company, adds.
After these simple steps are followed, it's time to treat the passenger to a drink using the in-flight texting system, he explains.
"Don't forget to seal the deal with suggestive seat to seat chat. I’m not a betting man but I say your chances of deplaning with a plus one are at least 50 percent. Best of luck, old man. "
