A British woman who brutally murdered her mother two years ago now wishes she was still alive.

Convicted murderer Lisa Brown, 22, wrote a letter to her fellow prison inmate and lover Donna O'Neill describing how she misses her mother's presence and smile.

"I still feel like there is a big gaping hole in my heart," she writes in the letter quoted by the UK's The Sun newspaper.

Brown was sentenced last September to 20 years behind bars for murdering her mother Anne, 51, by bashing her in the head at least 60 times with a large torch in October 2008.

The mother and daughter had been locked in a bitter custody battle over the younger woman's 20-month-old son.

Her then boyfriend John Wilson was sentenced to 12 years behind bars for helping to dump Anne Brown's body in a burn.

"I just want her back. I would love to pick up the phone and hear her voice at the other end but it ain't going to happen," Lisa Brown wrote in her letter.

"She ain't going to be waiting at the gate, if and when I get out. God I miss her so much. Mum RIP xoxoxo."

In the letter Brown also reveals in explicit detail some sexual fantasies she would like to perform on O’Neill.

The pair began seeing each other last year, a union which has reportedly "disgusted" guards at their prison Cornton Vale.
