Drug smugglers's fake fruit wasn't enough to deceive Dutch customs officials and get $US25 million ($A27.37 million) worth of cocaine into the country.
Prosecutors say police uncovered 500kg of the drug concealed inside plastic pineapples this week.
Fruit packers called the police after discovering the strange-looking fruit among a shipment of real pineapples on Monday night. When police cut into the pineapples, they discovered packages of cocaine stuffed inside.
Spokeswoman Marianne Goet said the shipment has a street value of E25 million ($A37.21 million).
While Dutch police tolerate soft drug use, they crack down on trafficking in hard drugs like cocaine and heroin.
There were no immediate arrests following Monday's discovery.
