Footage released last month has shown a pod of dolphins helping a young seal as it struggles to swim away from a rocky shore.
In the video, filmed by a Canadian documentary crew, the lone pup is bobbing in water barely 100m from a rocky beach when a curious seagull begins to peck at it.
The helpful dolphins give it the exhausted pup a few gentle nudges in the direction of deeper water. Their encouragement appears to work.
But it's not the first time another species has come to the rescue of an animal in trouble.
From a sheep found buried alive to conservationists rescuing a baby elephant, we've put together a small collection of videos showing how humans and animals help out other creatures in need.
