A pod of Orca has given a New Zealand crayfish diver and a dog a scare, chasing them both out of the water.
Scott de Jongh, 34, was diving with a friend at Mathesons Bay just north of Auckland last Sunday when the pod came up behind them, the NZ Herald reports.
Mr De Jongh said he did not realise the orca were less than 20m away because the visibility in the water was so bad.
"We didn't notice until we finished the dive. Then we saw the dorsal fins," Mr De Jongh said.
Video of the encounter shows a diver climbing up onto a rock and taking off his googles to peer at the Orca in the water.
The orca then loses interest in the diver and turns its attention to a black dog swimming nearby.
The dog frantically turns and paddles to the shore with the orca chasing close behind.
