A US musician pretended to be a woman to 'seduce' and catch the thief that stole his iPhone.
Nadav Nirenberg, 27, from New York lost his iPhone 4 when he was on his way to a concert on New Year's Eve.
"It was immediately turned off when I called it," he wrote on his blog.
"This dude is clearly keeping it.
The thief began to use Mr Nirenberg's online dating profile and was sending strange messages to women.
Nirenberg said the thief was using his picture to lure girls into meeting him.
The quick-thinking musician decided to create a 24-year-old alias using a photo of an attractive woman taken from Google Images and suggested the two should meet.
The thief responded and several hours later and Mr Nirenberg went to confront the thief.
The man answered the door holding a bottle of wine, was clean shaven and smelt of cologne.
Nirenberg, holding a hammer ordered the thief to surrender his phone and offered him $20 before he ran away.
He said he won't file a police report because he didn’t want to cause any trouble – he just wanted his phone back.Author: Bernadette Chua, Approving editor: Matthew Henry
