Amsterdam’s oldest prostitutes are set to hang up their lingerie after a combined 100 years in the sex industry.
Twin sisters Louise and Martine Fokkens, 70, are going to retire after more than fifty years each working in Amsterdam’s infamous red light district.
Between them, the pair estimate they have slept with more than 355,000 men, The Sun reports.
Now they say they are too old to sell sex.
Louise, a mother-of-four, has arthritis, which makes some sexual positions “too painful”.
And Martine, who has three children, says she can no longer draw the numbers she used too - except for one elderly gentleman who still visits for his weekly S&M sessions.
“I couldn’t give him up,” she told the newspaper.
“He’s been coming to me for so long like it’s like going to church on a Sunday”
The sisters – who usually wear matching red outfits – turned to prostitution to earn a living after escaping violent relationships before their 20th birthday.
The Fokkens were the subject of a documentary titled Meet the Fokkens in 2011, and also wrote about their sexual exploits in the 2012 book, The Ladies of Amsterdam.
