The grandson of US golfing great Jack Nicklaus has survived a spectacular motorcycle accident in Florida.
Nick O'Leary, a star American Football player at Florida State University, was travelling on his motorcycle down a street in Tallahassee when a car cut across the road in front of him.
Footage captured by CCTV cameras inside a nearby bus show O'Leary unable to slow down in time to avoid the car, ploughing into its front end and being sent flying over the bonnet.
Documents obtained by Florida University sports website Tomahawk Nation show O'Leary was treated at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries from the May 2 crash.
The crash report states the driver of the car was cited for causing the accident.
Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher recently spoke of Mr O’Leary’s crash, saying, "He wrecked that doggone scooter and was banged up for about a month", but had since recovered.
