A mystery diner has sparked interest after reportedly leaving a $5000 tip on a $214 restaurant bill in the US.
The man has been leaving a trail of generous tips across Utah restaurants and bars, totalling thousands of dollars since, ABC News reported.
It all started at Brewskis Bar and Grill in the city of Odgen on Friday where someone tipped waitstaff $5000 for their troubles.
The following night the big tipper returned, this time stumped by a table-side iPad when trying to leave another large tip at a bar called Alleged.
"He called over the bartender, he's like 'hey this thing's not letting me leave a good tip'," Alleged owner Jared Allen said.
"[The bartender] said 'well what do you mean?'
"He's like, 'I want to tip $1000'. And the bartender said, 'let me get my manager'."
The tip was so large, Alleged manager Michael Allen said he tried to talk the man out of it.
Both bars say they know their tipper's identity but are keeping it secret.
British billionaire Richard Branson, who was reportedly in the area, has been rumoured as a possible candidate.
Back in May, another mystery diner left a $1000 tip to a waitress after she mentioned that she had always dreamed of seeing Italy, with the message 'Your ticket to Italy. Enjoy!!' scrawled on the docket.
Taylor Swift also reportedly left a $500 tip after dining at Ralph's Italian Restaurant in Philadelphia.
