A fireworks factory in Colombia has exploded after catching fire leaving seven people injured.
Thirty people were working in the Polvoreria Hofman factory located in the village of La Punta at the time, when they claim to have heard a deafening crash.
"Many were packing the fireworks to sell in December when we heard the cries of other employees, and then we ran," one employee explained to Spanish news agency El Tiempo.
Video of the incident shows an enormous mushroom cloud bloom above the factory as fireworks explode below.
The power of the explosion was so strong it knocked out the windows of homes and businesses up to two kilometres away.
Emergency crews on the scene told El Tiempo they saw people crying and shaking, and many with burnt clothing running from the area.
It's understood three women and two firefighters were injured in the explosion. The women were transported to hospital for assessment, while the firefighters refused treatment.
