The world's tallest water slide will be insane in more ways than one.
Its name is Verrückt — a German word literally meaning crazy, which you'd probably have to be to considering riding on something taller than the Niagara Falls.
The "game changer" slide has been under construction at Kansas City Schlitterbahn, a Kansas water park, and is due to begin terrifying patrons as summer hits the Northern Hemisphere this year.
Vertigo-inducing footage released by the park offers a sneak peek at the terrifying scope of the water slide.
Park officials promise Verrückt is bigger than Brazil's Insano, which currently holds the title of world's biggest water slide.
The new attraction's exact height won't be revealed until its official unveiling ceremony, but it's around 40m high and has 264 steps leading to the top, reports the Kansas City Star.
Daredevils will whoosh down the slide in inflatable rafts that hold up to four people and reach speeds of more than 100km/h.
"[Verrückt] will attract those adrenaline junkies who are always looking for that next biggest, coolest thrill,” said Layne Pitcher, Kansas City Schlitterbahn's director of marketing and sales.
