A jilted husband has called police to investigate claims his wife is having an incestuous relationship with her son.
The 35-year-old truck driver recently returned from a French work trip to find his 38-year-old wife and her long-lost teenage son had fled the family home.
A family member then told him the pair were sprung together in a semi-nude clinch on the lounge room couch.
"My whole world has been shattered," The Sun reported the husband as saying.
"It is sick and beyond belief — what mother could do such a thing?"
The mother and son had recently reunited after a 14-year separation, during which he was raised in foster care.
But they recently made contact through social networking site Bebo and instantly formed a close bond.
"In hindsight, they were far too touchy-feely and were always stuck to one another," the husband said.
A family member, who did not want to be named, was quoted in the paper describing her horror when she discovered the incestuous fling.
"I came downstairs and both of them were on the couch," she was reported as saying.
"The pair of them jumped up: he was lying on top of her with just a robe covering him and she had a top on but nothing covering her bottom half.
"I was shocked and ran upstairs … she told me it was a drunken mistake."
The mother's sister says the scandal has torn apart their family.
"She had been acting suspiciously and she gave me a cover story that she was having an affair with an 18-year-old boy who was a friend of a friend," she was reported as saying.
“But when it came out in the open I was horrified.
“Her son is only 18 but should still know right from wrong."
The mother has since been tracked down to a hotel hideaway with her son and two grandchildren she is raising while her daughter is treated for depression.
She denied any wrongdoing, claiming her "bitter" husband made up the entire story.
Police confirmed they are investigating the claims.
