Photos posted on Facebook have helped New Zealand police arrest an alleged safecracker.
The thief uses an angle grinder to open the safe.
New Zealand police have arrested a man after posting security camera images of a would-be safecracker on the social networking website Facebook.
The 21-year-old apprentice from the South Island city of Queenstown was arrested after public responses to the images posted on Facebook, news websites and in newspapers.
Queenstown police said they were grateful to those who had assisted them with their "first Facebook arrest".
The man allegedly entered the Frankton Arms Tavern through a roof early on Monday armed with an angle grinder, but took off his balaclava, apparently after getting too hot.
Constable Sean Drader said: "I've never met a burglar that I thought was bright. I'm pretty sure someone will recognise him."
The arrested man is due to appear in Queenstown District Court on January 14 to face charges over the break-in.
