A British bride has been left "distraught" after her great aunt died and other wedding guests were left ill by food poisoning at the reception dinner.
Rene Kwartz, 82, died last week after she was taken to hospital with four other guests from the wedding of Jennifer Harris and Stephen Wicks, the Daily Express reports.
Mrs Kwartz was one of 150 guests who ate from a buffet of canapes at the tradition Jewish wedding which was held on August 8 at the Hilton Suite in Preswitch, Manchester.
Twenty guests are now taking legal action against caterers Shefa Mehadrin and public health officials are investigating.
In a statement, the bride's mother Norma Harris said the family was "devastated" by the events.
"My lovely Aunt Rene — she was confirmed as having salmonella," Mrs Harris said.
"My daughter and her husband are distraught and cannot even bear to look at their wedding photographs."
An inquest into Mrs Kwartz's death has been adjourned to next year.
