A celibate monk has caused a sensation with a sex manual dubbed the 'Catholic Kama Sutra'.
Ksawery Knotz's book, Sex As You Don't Know It, was such a hit in his native Poland that all 5000 copies were snapped up within weeks of going on sale, the BBC reports.
The Sw. Pawel publishing house has now ordered a reprint of the book, in which the Franciscan friar goes into graphic detail about a subject that many in the Church consider sinful or taboo.
Father Knotz tells readers that sex in marriage should be "saucy, surprising and fantasy packed".
"Some people, when they hear about the holiness of married sex, immediately imagine that such sex has to be deprived of joy, frivolous play, fantasy and attractive positions," he writes in his book, which is endorsed by the Polish Catholic Church.
"Every act — a type of cass, a sexual position — with the goal of arousal is permitted and pleases God."
But Father Knotz does not stray from the Church's view on contraceptives, saying that they "lead a married couple outside of Catholic culture and into a completely different lifestyle".
As a celibate man of the cloth, Father Knotz says he relied on his experience counselling married couples to write his book.
He has also run a website giving sexual advice for more than a year.
