US prosecutors are yet to decide if they will charge Australian advertising executive George Betsis with kidnapping his son.
Betsis was the focus of a manhunt in Los Angeles after picking up his 10-year-old son, Tomas, from a school in the affluent suburb of Pacific Palisades on April 3.
He stayed with the boy at a secret location for 12 days before dropping him off at a Hollywood police station.
Betsis is embroiled in a custody dispute with his ex-wife and Tomas' mother, Priscilla Dunstan.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday said a decision was yet to be made on whether Betsis would be charged.
"The investigation is ongoing and a decision has not been made regarding the filing of charges," district attorney spokesperson Shiara Davila-Morales told AAP.
Sydney-based Betsis spoke to numerous Australian media organisations while on the run and told how he was frustrated about not being allowed to spend time with his son.
Betsis is now married to Australian actress Mary Coustas, best known for her comic character Effie.
Dunstan is also widely known, particularly in the US after appearing on various TV talk shows, including Oprah Winfrey, where she demonstrated her ability to understand the cries of babies.
