It's Russian roulette with a rope — a woman slides off a snowy rooftop into a screaming plunge between two abandoned buildings.
Video has emerged of the unidentified thrill-seeker's heart-stopping leap while attached to a makeshift bungee cord in Russia.
The rope appears to be secured to the building but her friends are seen clinging to it for added support.
"Rope jumping" is a popular underground extreme sport in Russia, with several sports groups leading expeditions to jump off of roofs and bridges.
Two of the underground groups, Mad Squirrels and Infinity, have posted several videos on YouTube of them jumping from roofs in the same area.
Unlike a bungee cord, the ropes they use have very little elasticity, meaning the jumper must leap at an angle to avoid a potentially deadly impact.
YouTube comments suggest that at least some of the footage is filmed in an abandoned area of Zheleznodorozhny, a city 21km east of Moscow.

A young woman who was on the radio tower with them at the time told NineMSN her friends are "crazy people".
"They like to do things really extremely," she said.
