Star goes 'loopy' on The X Factor

Melbourne male model Andrej Pejic has turned heads in Paris again — this time appearing in a wedding dress during the Jean Paul Gaultier womenswear show.

Gaultier mashed up high-stepping French cancan with street-wise London punk and his signature horizontal stripes on the final day of the Paris summer haute couture shows.

Pejic, who emigrated to Australia from Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1999, has enjoyed a rapid rise to fame over the past few months, with his unique androgynous appearance turning heads in the fashion world.

The 19-year-old from Melbourne was last week cast as the gun-toting blonde femme fatale at Gaultier's James Bond-themed menswear show.

According to his Australian management company Chadwick Models, he has been chosen as the face of the Gaultier brand's new springwear collection.

"Personally I dont care what gender a piece of clothing is assigned to as long as it's aesthetically appealing to me," Pejic told ninemsn in an email.

"Although shooting womenswear can be a lot less restrictive, which ultimately is more fun."

At Paris Fashion Week last year he modelled both menswear and womenswear for prominent labels including Galliano, Raf Simmons and Paul Smith, generating headlines with each show.
