Video of a shop front collapsing and crushing a car during a devastating earthquake in Christchurch has emerged.
In the clip, filmed in the moments following the quake and broadcast by local network TV3, a verandah dislodges and falls to the street, sending up a thick cloud of dust and debris.

A car is crushed under the debris as several people run for cover on the street, which is believed to be in the CBD of the New Zealand city.
In the nearby town of Summer, another amateur cameraman filmed a massive rock slide burying the side of a building and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"You can see it's crushed the building there... and the cars ... it's terrifying," the cameraman says in the video.
The clips were uploaded to YouTube and sent to news agencies in the hours after the quake struck at 10.51am (AEDT) today.
Police have confirmed there have been multiple fatalities in central Christchurch, where dozens of buildings were destroyed.
Hundreds of people are also believed to be trapped in city buildings following the 6.3-magnitude quake.
Some of those killed were believed to have been travelling in two buses which were crushed by falling buildings, TVNZ said.
A witness saw the facade of a building collapse on a bus on Colombo St.
"There's people dead. [They're] pulling them out of a bus," the witness told the New Zealand Herald newspaper.
