A video that apparently shows young Afghani children recreating a suicide bomb attack has caused concern among humanitarian groups.

The video shows a boy saying goodbye to his friends and walking over to another group of children. They then throw sand in the air to simulate an explosion.

The boy and the children he is near then drop to the ground and play dead as the sand clears.

The video, which apparently shows Pashtun school children in south-east Afghanistan, has been shared on social networking sites in Pakistan over the past week, the UK Telegraph reports.

"It's horrifying and alarming. These children have become fascinated by bombers rather than condemning them," Salma Jafar of Save the Children UK in Pakistan told The Guardian

. "If they glamorise violence now, they can become part of it later in life."

Some have suggested the video was choreographed by adults, with the height of the camera suggesting an adult was filming.

In any case, many children have died in the conflict in the region, with some instances of children committing violence themselves.

Pakistani media commentator Fasi Zaka said the suicide bomber video was "the most amazing amateur video I've ever seen".

"It's disturbing but also sophisticated and creative — a one-camera shot that captures it all.

"They are reproducing what they see in their lives around them."
