A 103-year-old woman will be allowed to stay in her Atlanta home after police and movers refused to evict her at the eleventh hour.

Vinia Hall and her daughter Kathelyn Cornelius, 83, were due to be kicked out on Tuesday.

But the movers and Fulton County sheriff's deputies who went to the house could not bring themselves to go through with it.

Now JPMorgan Chase, which is administering their mortgage, has announced the pair will be allowed to stay.

"We will work out a resolution to keep them in the home," Thomas Kelly, a spokesman for the bank, said in an emailed statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper.

Hall, who has lived in the house for 53 years, said she was never worried about being evicted.

"No, I knew that they know what they were doing. God don't let them do wrong," she told the newspaper.

Former Atlanta City Council member Derrick Boazman said Hall's grandson Ali Muhammad, who had the mortgage on the house, had been fighting the foreclosure since 2009.

Boazman said the bank should write off the loan.
