The world's most extreme inline skater has risen to new heights after taking on a rollercoaster track and reaching speeds of 90km/h.

Dirk Auer wore specially designed skating shoes as he was pulled to the top of the 30m-high Mammoth rollercoaster at the Trips Drill theme park in Germany, the Daily Mail reports.

The 36-year-old wore a full body protective suit and a black helmet as he plunged down the first hill at speeds of 90km/h — fast enough to propel him to the end of the 860m track.

Auer, who holds the world record for reaching speeds of 307km/h as he was pulled behind a Porsche GT2, said he could have easily been killed.

"If the skates were to catch a stray nail then I could have fallen and I would almost certainly have died," he was quoted as saying.

The Frankfurt local said he spent two months planning the stunt and 110 hours designing the shoes, which were latched to the wooden coaster using a metal locking device.

"When I reached the first drop I was 30m high and this allowed me to reach speeds of 90km/h on descent," he said.

"Some of the sides were so high that at times I was at 90 degrees and so it was very important to have as much traction as possible.

"Luckily everything went according to plan — it was a lot of fun."
