A US woman has given birth on train bound for Manhattan during the morning commute.
Rabita Sarkar, and her husband Adita Saurabh, took the train from their New Jersey home to avoid rush hour traffic on the way to see her doctor, the New York Post reported.
Ms Sarkar, 31, was having what she thought were false labour pains when they decided to take the train.
"We always thought the first baby takes time to come. I thought we had the luxury of time," Ms Sarkar said.
Mr Saurabh said that his wife told him to look and when he did he could see the baby’s hair.
The couple said passengers on the train were helpful during the unexpected birth.
“There was an old lady who told us what to do, because we had no idea,” Ms Sarkar said.
“It was a quick delivery.”
Minutes later, the conductor announced that the woman had given birth and the train would now be running express to Manhattan.
