A European confectionary company is under fire for allegedly showing fruit characters engaging in sex acts on its packaging.
Haribo's range of MAOAM sour lollies have disgusted one father who claims that images of cartoon lemons, limes and cherries are pictured in "pornographic" poses.
"The lemon and lime are locked in what appears to be a carnal encounter," the Daily Mail reported British father-of-two Simon Simpkins as saying.
"The lime, whom I assume to be the gentleman in this coupling, has a particularly lurid expression on his face.
Another flavour sees the green man enjoying a similar encounter with a pair of cherries.
"I demanded to see the shop manager and, during a heated exchange, my wife became quite distressed and had to sit down in the car park," Mr Simpkins said.
A Haribo company spokesman said the packaging was first introduced in Germany in 2002 and was intended for families.
"This jovial MAOAM man is very popular with fans, both young and old," he was quoted as saying.
