A "bubbly" British mother-of-two was allegedly stabbed to death by her bodybuilder ex-husband as she prepared to celebrate her divorce.
Katrina Jones, 34, was found in a pool of blood with several stab wounds on Saturday morning just hours before guests were due to arrive at her home for her "Divorce Party", The Sun reports.
Her ex-husband, 63-year-old Brian Jones, was handcuffed and led from the home in Marske in the north of the UK by police who were called by neighbours reporting a domestic disturbance.
He has since been charged with her murder.
Shocked neighbours said the Joneses had been married for nine years before Ms Jones divorced her husband in February this year.
One neighbour said Mr Jones was "the sort of person you would avoid in the street".
Another said Ms Jones had been "in a good mood all week".
"She always had a smile on her face anyway ... her and Brian split up because Katrina fell out of love with Brian," the neighbour was quoted as saying.
"I think he took it hard and he couldn't accept it was over."
The couple have an 11-year-old son while Mrs Jones has an 18-year-old son — who did not live with the family — from a previous marriage.
Tributes have been posted on Ms Jones' Facebook page, with friend Jane Curran saying "gone but not forgotten".
"We will always remember your smiling face and infectious laugh," Ms Curran said.
